International Calling to UK
Calling the United Kingdom from abroad is simple once you understand the correct dialling format. The UK country code is +44, and the leading “0” from local UK numbers must be removed when dialling internationally.
⚠️ Do not include the leading “0” of the UK area or mobile code when calling from outside the UK.
How to Dial a UK Number from Abroad
Follow this format:
International Access Code + 44 + Area Code (without 0) + Local Number
The international access code varies by country (e.g., 011 from the US & Canada, 00 from most European countries).
Example: Calling a London Landline
UK local number: 020 7946 1234
From abroad: +44 20 7946 1234
Notice that the leading 0 in 020 is removed.
Example: Calling a UK Mobile Number
UK mobile number: 07123 456789
From abroad: +44 7123 456789
